The New Wave pioneers are coming to a shoe near you

March 18, 2020

You may ask yourself, what will Vans do next? And you may ask yourself, does it come in my size?

After successful collaborations with Metallica, Led Zeppelin, and David Bowie, the company will next offer shoes inspired by Talking Heads. The New Wave pioneers will be featured in a new collection, with art direction taken from the band’s 1979’s Fear of Music album, and the photoshoot from their 1985 album Little Creatures.

Talking Heads frontman David Byrne has been busy, taking the cast of his Broadway production, American Utopia, to Saturday Night Live earlier this year. The show returns to Broadway in September.

Recently Vans has come through with some powerful collaborations, partnering with The Nightmare Before Christmas and Harry Potter for amazing collections, and also joining the fight for Autism Awareness featuring “sensory-inclusive elements.”
